Mayor's green fund boosts wildlife at Waterloo Green

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has awarded more than £1.27 million in funding to help tackle the capital’s toxic air by improving and creating green spaces.

Bankside Open Spaces Trust is delighted that our Waterloo Green will benefit from this Greener City Fund. The grant will help us implement a series of improvements to the green, with a particular focus on boosting biodiversity with new wildlife-friendly planting and a nature trail.

Waterloo Green Masterplan

We have been working on a masterplan for Waterloo Green ad have already begun to make changes to the site - improving the area around the food stall, new planting and making adjustments to the water feature, which has caused many problems over the years. You can find out more about our plans on our Waterloo Green page. This plan is the result of collaboration between LDA Design, the park Steering Group and our local trustees, we hope the Green will become a real hub for people and wildlife in Waterloo.
