I set up a ‘Friends of Mint Street Park’ Group in 1997 and found out that there was an umbrella group with no name that was also helping out ‘Friends of’ groups in the area.

This became BOST in 2000 and I have never looked back.

In the Future I see BOST as a sustainable organisation looking after the majority of small parks and open spaces in SE1 on behalf of the local communities with a focus on excellence in everything we do.

The Sports Garden is my favourite thing. We offer free coached sport for 8 primary schools in the area who do not have any sports facilities at their schools.

This will have a dramatic effect on the children’s health, well-being and lives as they are within walking distance of this facility that is predominately funded by the local businesses that hire the park’s facilities for their staff. A win–win!
