Bankside Open Spaces Trust’s brilliant, free, all-day street party in the heart of London.
For the last two years, Bankside Open Spaces Trust has invited all who live, work in and visit Bankside to get together and celebrate all that we hold in common.
Initially part of a nationwide initiative, inspired by the late MP Jo Cox, The Great Get Together Bankside has grown into a street party like no other.
In 2018 over 9,000 people took to our Marlborough Sports Garden and Red Cross Garden and the streets around them to share food and drink, take part in races, bake offs and Bark-Offs, dance, sing and enjoy theatre and live music.
The Great Get Together featured five stages programmed by SuperGlad Music, Corsica Studios DJs, Lost Rivers and Resonance 104.4FM, comedy from the Country Mile Comedy Club, dance workshops from Swing Patrol, an amazing human tower by the Castellers of London and enthusiastic drumming from Pandemonium Drummers to name but a few highlights.
The Great Get Together Bankside also joined London Festival of Architecture's global festival trail with a series of events reflecting its theme of Identity’ including Musicity’s extraordinary singing buildings, The Extraordinary Women Follies, and the Art Exchange street installations.
We hope to return to the streets for The Great Get Together Bankside in June 2019 – see you there!
