Bankside Open Spaces Trust Trustees

Our charitable activities are overseen by our Board of Trustees, which is made up of nine members.

Chair - Tim Wood

Treasurer - Karen Atkinson

Our Trustees are recruited through an open application process. We aim to have a Board that:

  • is diverse and gender-balanced

  • contains the professional skills and experience we need to operate effectively and sustainably

If you are interested in finding out more about our Trustees or would like to speak to us about joining our Board, please email info@bost.org.uk

Supporters and Partners

None of our work would be possible without our incredible team, our trustees, our board members and the continued support from The London Boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth.

We are partnered with numerous charities, housing associations, educational and health organisations, landowners and individual donors who have worked with us over the years. We also work with incredible funders who support our work through grants and donations. In the past year we are grateful to all our supporters who have given us the flexibility to continue with our work in difficult circumstances.

Our programme supporters include:

Bank of America, Better Bankside, City Bridge Foundation, Dorrington, Fleet Street Quarter, Great Portland Estates, Landsec, London Bridge City, London Borough of Southwark, London Borough of Lambeth, Peer Group PLC, Riverside & Mount Anvil, Royal Horticultural Society, Royal Parks, Team London Bridge, The Birrane Foundation, The Henry Smith Charity, The National Lottery Community Fund, The Worshipful Company of Gardeners, United St Saviour’s Charity and those who wish to remain anonymous.

Thank you for making Bankside Open Spaces Trust what it is today.

Working with Developers

Bankside Open Spaces Trust does not support planning applications. We do however engage with developers to influence the public realm offer to be as good as possible in terms of a) making a meaningful contribution to the green infrastructure of the local area and b) providing new public realm that’s available for the enjoyment of the local community.

Any engagement from Bankside Open Spaces Trust is clearly independent of funding from developers.

Developers at Bankside Open Spaces Festival

At our yearly Bankside Open Spaces Festival, we invite developers with projects in the area to display these schemes and engage with the locals who attend the festival.

This is often the only opportunity that the community has to see these developments together in one place. This is beneficial for the community and helps the developers with their Community Consultation. In return the Developers contribute to the cost of organising the Festival. Enabling this platform does not constitute/signify Bankside Open Spaces Trust’s support for individual schemes.
