Growing communities since 2000
Bankside Open Spaces Trust is a registered charity that was set up by a group of local people with an aim to improve the SE1 area, making it a greener, more beautiful place to live and work.
Set up in 2000 and predominately operating in spaces from Waterloo to London Bridge, we work closely with local communities, residents and local businesses to make a difference. We have helped to create and look after over 45 individual parks and gardens. These include Red Cross Garden, Waterloo Green, Diversity Garden, Marlborough Sports Garden, Tate Modern Community Garden, Crossbones Garden and Mint Street Park.
Each BOST site is unique, with its own atmosphere, identity and sense of place. We work with local people including regular gardening groups, supporting parks steering groups, organising public events, devising educational projects and offering advice to others.
Our spaces have won more than 32 awards, including the UNESCO Man and Biosphere award, London in Bloom Champion of Champions and the MPGA London Spade for our community gardening partnerships.
Supporters and Partners
None of this would be possible without the work from our incredible team, our trustees, our board members and the continued support from The London Boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth. We are partnered with numerous other charities, housing associations, educational and health organisations, landowners and individual donors who have worked with us over the years and their continued support is what makes BOST what it is today.
