Just a short walk from the bustle of Borough Market and Bankside you can discover this inviting urban oasis, a perfect spot for reading your morning paper, having a picnic lunch, or enjoying the peace, flowers, wildlife and green, green grass.

Through some excellent partnerships with local supporters, funders and advisers, BOST now manages this important garden.

Octavia Hill (co-founder of The National Trust) originally established this delightful garden in 1887 to provide beauty and fresh air for the 'tired inhabitants of Southwark' - the Garden has recently been restored to its Victorian glory with pond, fountain, bridge and meandering paths - and lots of comfortable benches.
