Tate Modern Community Garden
BOST’s long awaited Community Garden at the Tate Modern officially opened on 20 June 2006. During the conception of Tate Modern it was decided that an area of land should be set aside for a community garden so that local people could enjoy peace and quiet in what would become an area of intense tourism.
We have planted fruit trees and created a pond, flower beds, herb garden and labyrinth. We continue to hold a series of volunteering events to maintain this original and beautiful haven for wildlife and local people.
The garden is a partnership project between BOST and Tate Modern. Contact BOST, or Synthia Griffin at Tate Modern (020 7401 5176) for more information on upcoming events, or on how you can get the secret password to access the garden. You can also visit the garden’s very own microsite.
