Gambia Street Garden

Once a road, now a place to linger

Gambia Garden is a lovely haven for residents and visitors alike.

BOST worked with Southwark Council and local residents to create a new park and gathering space on the footprint of a closed road. Opened in 2004, the sinuous paving, raised flowerbeds and new trees have brought a sense of place to this end of Banside.

We are now wokring towards a project to improve the whale-formed planters with a series of circular mosaics, and possibly to add more planting.

We are always grateful to local residents who keep up with watering and planting here.
