Diversity Garden
The new Diversity Garden at Library Street has started on the ground!
The design we have agreed will include some raised beds, a wildlife pond, edible hedge, mini meadow, and cherry trees. The main structure is being made for us by Durkan as part of the build of the flats and houses. They will hand it over to us on behalf of local people, around Christmas.
In January, February, March and April we will need lots of help from local residents to plant up the beds, trees, and vegetables and to keep these well maintained. We are particularly looking for some Garden Guardians to take a lead locally.
While the main structure is designed there are still a number of important decisions to be made for example about what gets planted, and how we work together to manage access. We are hoping local people will get involved in making some of these decisions.
We intend to leaflet new and old residents in nearby properties in the spring with dates, and to have posters on site. In the meantime, do get in touch to get involved. (info@bost.org.uk)
